It’s not clear who Katherine Stokes was, or even if she existed at all! She might have been a pen name for the Stratemeyer Syndicate which was publishing books for young people centered around cars and other motorized vehicles, chock-full of action and adventure. Like this book, Stratemeyer’s were about 200 pages long, and had four illustrations.
